Welcome to Erik Offerdal Photography!

The opportunity to travel and to live in many different places around the world, has been a defining feature of my life, both during my professional career in international finance, and also since retirement. And throughout my travels I have tried to be true to the comment “I always bring my camera. It makes it so much easier to take photos” (Henri Cartier-Bresson). Admittedly, bringing the camera can sometimes be a hassle. But having it in hand is how I immerse myself in observing life around me, waiting for the right light or the right moment, to capture a scenic landscape, the grandeur of architecture, the minute details of flowers or abstract patterns, or street life. Although that waiting can sometimes bring my patience (and that of those around me) close to a breaking point, the end result is always worth it. This website is the result of some of my observations along the way. It currently includes 17 galleries with images from 22 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, and also a couple more. Please enjoy a tour around the site, and, should you find something you particularly like, the images are available for sale or licensing.
