My passion for photography started about 30 years ago, with an SLR camera borrowed for a weekend. Roaming through the woods near my hometown in Norway and exposing a few rolls of film ignited an excitement for the medium that has only grown over time. As soon as my student budget would allow, I got my first “real” camera and I have been on a roll ever since. Many years and many thousands of rolls later—film rolls, in case you wondered—I decided it was time to present a selection of my favorite images on a website.

Although passionate about photography, it has remained a part-time activity of my adult life—so far. However, my “day-job”, a career in the financial industry, has actually nurtured my passion because of extensive travel around the world, sometimes living for long periods in faraway places. Throughout these travels I have lived by the maxim “Always bring your camera – it makes it so much easier to take pictures”. Navigating this site will give you a sense of where I have been and what I have seen.

And that, in a nutshell, is the purpose of my photography—I take pictures for the pleasure of recording what I see; the people I meet, the timelessness of an architectural feature, the energy of waves crashing on a craggy coastline, the texture of a dieffenbachia leaf, or the simple beauty of the sun setting behind a volcano. Whether such a diverse range of subjects amount to an artistic vision or not, I’ll leave to you, the visitor, to decide.
